People socialise, share opinions and network using social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Businesses are no different. It&#8217;s also very easy to miss something with a manual process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can we legally take a Social Media check?<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">This question still looms large with a lot of employers and it\u2019s certainly one of the factors that might stop companies from doing a social media check during the hiring process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The answer is yes you can, but you must get consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Getting a candidate\u2019s consent means there is nothing \u2018sneaky\u2019 about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\"><strong>How are Social Media checks valuable for an employer?<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-list\">\n<li>CV\u2019s only provide one view of a candidate and often, during the interview process, candidates will portray a particular version of themselves. This makes it difficult to know whether they will not only suit the role they are applying for, but also fit into the team on a day-to-day basis.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can gain insight into how candidates act, talk and represent themselves in a less professional setting.
