One way to do this is through background checks. These verify the candidate\u2019s personal claims, and allow employers to make informed hiring decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vetting.com\/en-gb\/checks\/dbs-police-checks\">DBS Checks<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/vetting.com\/en-au\/checks\/police-checks\">Police Checks<\/a> &#8211; these are often mandatory checks to identify an applicant\u2019s criminal history. A previous offence may indicate violent tendencies or fraudulent behaviour. It should be noted, however, that the presence of a disclosable outcome does not necessarily preclude a candidate from being hired (the offence must have relevance to the prospective role to preclude them).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"color:#19419b\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vetting.com\/reference-software\">Digital Referencing<\/a> &#8211; verifying a candidate\u2019s employment history with their past employers provides insight into the candidate\u2019s honesty, and sheds light on their professional performance and manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vetting.com\/checks\/right-to-work-checks\">Right to Work Checks<\/a> &#8211; ensuring candidates\u2019 right to work before engaging them in employment is necessary from a compliance standpoint, and protects the business from legal liability.
