An NZ MoJ Criminal History check is the New Zealand equivalent of the Australian Police Check. It informs employers of a candidate's disclosable criminal history to enable them to safeguard their company and clientele from risk. These checks are distinct from the NZ Police Vetting Check, as they can be used for any role (not limited to vulnerable groups), and contain only criminal and/or traffic conviction information (subject to Clean Slate exceptions). If the role involves contact with the children or vulnerable groups, the NZ Police Vetting Check may be recommended.
All we need are your occupation details, personal details, 10 years of address history and proof of identification (usually a passport, NZ driver's license etc.). We also accept various forms of alternative identification if the traditional forms are not held.
An organisation should request a New Zealand Ministry of Justice Criminal History check when hiring for positions in New Zealand where the candidate will be providing services for vulnerable adults or children. An NZ MoJ check also covers the employer and safeguards the organisation from risk.
