VEVO Checks

Visa information held by the Australian Department of Immigration relating to a candidate's residence and working rights in Australia is accessed in this check.

Identity documents such as the foreign Passport and Visa Grant Notice are required for this check. If the visa was originally granted on an older, expired Passport then that Passport's number will be needed. For New Zealand citizens who may not have a Visa Grant Notice, a picture of the arrival stamp will normally be needed instead.

The VEVO check is similar to the Right to Work check in that both investigate a candidate's working rights and limitations in Australia. Right to Work check is chosen if the employer wants to check a candidate's right to work status regardless of their citizenship / residency, whereas a Visa check can be used where the candidate is already known not to be an Australia citizen.

These checks run the candidate's details through the VEVO database to check the type of visa they have and any associated conditions or working restrictions.
