Directorship Checks

Directorship checks give employers the ability to assess potential risks or conflicts of interest when appointing directors and senior management. The check provides a list of all current and previous directorship and company secretary positions the candidate has held, showing if they are eligible for directorship at the point of application.

Hopefully we can answer all of your Directorship Check questions below, but if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

What does a Directorship check entail?

Vetting.com will automatically search Companies House for all Directorship information on the requested candidate.

How long do the results take, and how do I get them?

The results of the Directorship check will be available within 1 day and returned into the Vetting.com platform, allowing you to save and export the report.

Our platform provides a single report for all checks that you carry out, all the information is available at the click of a button.

What do Directorship check results show?

The results of a Directorship check show the candidate's total number of current and previous directorships and whether they are currently disqualified. With each directorship, the report will show the company name, registration number, date of appointment and resignation/dissolution.

Can Directorship checks be made outside of the UK?

Unfortunately, no, Directorship checks through Companies House only cover candidates' directorship posts within the UK. However Vetting.com does offer Directorship checks for Australian candidates as a separate check.

Are the results affected if the candidate moves address?

No, the candidate's address does not affect the results from a Directorship check. The check uses the candidate's name and date of birth.
