Qualification Check FAQ

Hopefully we can answer all of your Qualification check questions below, but if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Why do I need a Qualification check?

Unfortunately, due to programmes such as Photoshop, employers are now unable to rely on visually checking certificates to prove a candidate's qualifications. Surveys have highlighted that qualifications are one of the most likely areas to be manipulated by candidates, therefore, if a qualification is essential for a role, it is important to check it with the awarding body.

What information is needed for a Qualification check?

The candidate must provide the following information for a Qualification check:

  • Name at the time of graduation
  • Date of birth
  • Name of institution
  • Qualification type (e.g., BA, MA, PhD)
  • Course name
  • Grade achieved
  • Date of award
Should I check all my candidate's education qualifications?

Checking your candidates' qualifications from high school certificate to degree level is not necessary, can become timely and not cost effective. We recommend checking their highest or most relevant qualification for a more streamlined approach. In most cases, candidates will have needed their previous qualifications to gain access to their highest-level qualification, therefore by checking this, their previous qualifications are also verified.
